Young People’s Fund 2: Local Grants Deadline!

The deadline for the submission of outline proposals to the Big Lottery Young People’s Fund 2 (YPF 2) Local Grants Programme is nearly upon us.

The Local Grants programme, intended to compliment the YPF 2 National Grants scheme, will award funding to local voluntary and community groups across England  that are currently working towards increasing young people’s involvement in designing, running and reviewing the services they use regularly.

All proposed activities or projects must be youth-led from start to finish and make a difference to the lives of children aged 10 – 18 years.  Each project that receives a grant must have a local identity with obvious beneficial effects on a local community.  The fund is particularly keen to sponsor groups that work with vulnerable or disadvantaged young people.

The YPF, having secured £38 million for the Local Grants programme, is likely to award 100 grants of between £10,000 and £500,000 during this particular funding round.

The closing date for submitting an outline proposal is Thursday 16 October 2008.  If, following a successful outline proposal, applicants are invited to submit a full application they must do so before 2 February 2009.
